Earn Scholarships Through Volunteer Opportunities

American Legion Auxiliary Junior members and youth who work with a Veterans Affairs Voluntary Service (VAVS) student volunteer program have the chance to win a substantial scholarship to be used for college through the James H. Parke Memorial Youth Scholarship!

The scholarship money can be used for any college tuition, books, school supplies, room and board or any other educational need. Juniors who are in a grade level of sophomores or above and have not reached their 19th birthday are eligible for the James H. Parke Memorial Youth Scholarship.

Junior members who complete 100 hours of regularly scheduled service at a VA medical center with a VAVS student volunteer program prior to September 1st can be nominated.

Juniors can and should get involved now to become eligible for the scholarship.

For more information on how to serve, contact Joyce Proce, Veteran Affairs & Rehabilitation Chairwoman or visit www.volunteer.va.gov/StudentProgram.asp.
